The whole company benefits when sold deals get installed fast. Here’s what drives timing — and how to maximize it on your deals.
A deal sold at 4 PM in NYC can be installed next day, if:
- It’s in the boroughs (1–2 day permits — see Permits)
- The consultant is confident in unit count and sizing — no survey needed
- Layout was entered accurately in the Newtonian app
- Equipment is in stock (Gree typically is — see Brand selection)
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Yonkers / Westchester location | Permits 2–3 weeks — see Permits |
| Decommissioning job | Mandatory site survey adds time |
| Pending solar inspection | May need to wait or pull permits ahead — see Solar interaction |
| Inaccurate Newtonian layout | Forces a survey or causes change orders on install day |
| Mitsubishi equipment | Slower warranty registration — see Brand selection |
| Lease financing | ~5 days for install packet approval before funding — see Lease |
- Prioritize NYC boroughs when prospecting
- Sell Gree by default — fastest equipment turnaround
- Get the layout right in Newtonian — accurate layout = no survey on simple jobs
- Confirm unit count before leaving — don’t second-guess later
- Flag decommissioning jobs early — get the survey on the calendar
If the deal is:
- Non-decommissioning, AND
- Under 5 units, AND
- The consultant is confident on sizing and placement, AND
- Newtonian layout is accurate
…the survey can be skipped and the install scheduled directly.
See Site survey for the detailed criteria.
Confident consultants + accurate Newtonian layouts = the install team skips the survey trip entirely. That saves an enormous amount of drive time and frees up install slots.
This is why getting good at the Newtonian layout matters.
